The Montreal Fluency Centre Foundation is the fund raising
arm of the Montreal Fluency Centre (MFC). The MFC, a dynamic and
widely used organization, is dedicated to providing quality speech/language
programs and assessment to children of all ages. Over 130 children
are treated weekly in the clinic and many more in outreach programs
within the community.
In 2000, the Foundation received a gift from The Lincolnshire
Foundation to establish an Endowment Trust to ensure the future
of the MFC. The interest from this fund is used to offer financial
assistance to families who are not able to afford private speech
therapy for their children. The bursary program of the MFC covers
30 -75% of the cost of the treatment. In order to continue to
support the 30% of the clinic families who receive bursaries,
we must raise additional funds yearly.
In order to do so, the MFC, through it‘s Foundation, has
established “Give the Gift of Speech” Special
Funding Bursary Campaign to assist families in need. Our goal
is to raise $100,000 each year, which is needed to support the
bursary fund. All of the funds collected are used to support treatment.
The bursary fund was set up by the MFC to help those families
who are in need to obtain speech and language services for their
children. The fund is intended to help children who, due to their
family‘s financial situation, would otherwise be unable
to enter a treatment program or receive needed services related
to speech and language difficulties.
